I really hope that the Govt. of India will listen to us and do something about all this mess.

Nisha Lad United States of America I was personally touched by Lila's story. Although never met her, I feel like I know Lila after reading so much about her. Matters are ignored up to a certain degree in society. Lila's passing has brought to surface an urgent and necessary concern: Safety within Vrindavan. No one should ever have to be afraid while in Vrindavan. Vrindavan is the universal home of all living beings. India is blessed to have Vrindavan within its boundaries, and therefore, India has a special responsibility to ensure the protection of all residents and visitors of this most magnificent dham. Let us all take this opportunity to make some positive changes.

Just because these ladies are foreigners does not mean the police should turn their heads. It is an outrage that innocent visitors and pilgrims visiting Vrindavan (the most holy site in all of India) that the government is allowing such such corruption and violence to take place.

Cori Churdar-WilejtoUSAI have been visiting Vrindavan for the past 8 years, and have seen the rapid decline in cleanliness and safety as very unfortunate. Lila had been stalked by her murderer, and this was reported to the local authorities (who refused to do anything about it). The local police are very corrupt and will not lift a finger if they can't personally profit from actually doing their job. Vrindavan has a large number of foreign visitors and residents and the Government of India should step in to ensure that they are safe and protected.

Being a Brij residents i have seen many Auto drivers asking more money from Tourists, i always tried to expalain the importance of tourist to Auto drivers that they are the bread & butter for them so they should treat them like our guest.

Jaggi Suta DasEngland, UKI knew Lila a little bit during the last Kartik festival and well when i found out about her passing away, I felt so sad and shocked that not only has a gurukuli whose spirit and beauty shines and touches all has passed away, but also that this act of crime was able to take place in the Holy Dham of Braja. This sort of act should Never be able to happen again as Vrindavan is where Krsna performed so many activities and that if these sorts of Crimes continue in the Dham, well give or take a few years there isn't going to be a Holy dham in which people can go to have a truely spiritual, inspiring and uplifting time. It is going to become a place where people will live and stay in fear and well we get that enough in the west. Please find it in your heart and intellegence to secure vrindavan for the better. Pratibha Devisingh Patil to commit the resources of the Indian government to protect this holy place.

gunamaiusaI think it very important that Vrindavan is recognized as a tourist destination due to the eternal spiritual significance of it being the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Unfortunately popular places attract both good and bad. The criminally inclined usually see it as an opportunity to take advantage of a good thing for their own cheating propensity. We all want the world to know about and visit Vrindavan but with more people passing thru, the bigger the need for good law enforcement. I hope also with this recognition that the standard of cleanliness, environmental awareness and the treatment of Cows and all animals will be improved, especially in this most spiritual of places it should be the highest example for India and the rest of the world. All here should feel safe and secure. Everyone will benefit.

Besides, I have been to Vrndavan Dham many times in the past, (and will continue to go there in the future), and I know how very dangerous it is there -unfortunately- especially for Western girls.
